The CDI Externship
CDI's Externship Program is a 12 week postgraduate certificate program with a focus on preparing clinical skills for a General Dentistry Residency. It is for highly motivated dental school graduates who plan to apply for admission to postgraduate residency programs in the United States and Canada. The program is designed to prepare all potential residency applicants in development of the necessary clinical skills required to meet the standard guidelines set forth in US and Canadian postgraduate residencies.
Program Overview
The program emphasizes the expansion and development of skills needed to properly diagnose, treatment plan, and treat patients of many different backgrounds. Additionally, the course will be fully accredited by CODA with Continuing Education credits available from ADA CERP, & PACE.
externs, upon program completion, will be COMPETENT to Provide care in general dentistry, including:
Operative Dentistry
Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics
Esthetic Dentistry
Implant Surgery and Restoration
Preventive Dentistry
Endodontics
Oral Surgery
Anesthesia and Pain Management
Management of the Medically & Mentally Disabled Patient
CDI will be accepting between 8-10 candidates into the program starting in March 2019. Tuition for the externs will be set at $30,000*.

Requirements
Participants must meet all of the requirements for admission into the program. All applicants must:
be a Dental School graduate
score a minimum of 80 TOEFL IBT
pass NBDE part 1
obtain ECE course-by-course evaluation.
**Completion of externship does not qualify participants for licensure in US nor acceptance into CDI's AEGD program
